Cattaneo Corporate Finance has advised on the management buy-out of Robinson’s Catering.
Robinson’s Catering, based in Tyseley, Birmingham, has undergone a management buy-out. Robinson’s is known for its high quality, nutritional meals in the nursery sector, and quality corporate catering for exhibitions, local businesses and the university community.
The transaction sees Dave and Clare Cowin take the business forward, having been a core part of the Robinson’s team since 2011. Dave has over 25 years’ experience in the sector, having previously managed a cookery school and led the kitchens of a number of hotels and restaurants.
Robinson’s was founded by former chef Dan Robinson who subsequently spun out specialist private jet catering business Niche & Bespoke before acquiring Deluxe Catering in autumn 2025 in a deal originated and advised by Cattaneo. The buy-out provides an exit from Robinson’s for Dan.
The Cattaneo team, led by Richard Newman, advised Robinson’s on structuring the transaction and sourcing and negotiating the funding package. Legal advisers on the transaction were Knights (vendor), mfg Solicitors (management team) and HCR Law (HSBC UK) with TC Group undertaking financial due diligence on behalf of HSBC UK.
Dave Cowin, MD of Robinson’s, said:
“We are delighted to have completed the buy-out. Robinson’s is a well-respected name in the Midlands and we aim to continue doing what Robinson’s does best, serving customers well while increasing the offering to achieve our growth potential.”
“The Cattaneo team helped us establish a suitable deal structure which worked for all parties and they have been very supportive throughout. When it came to executing this transaction they were responsive, knowledgeable and their proactive approach drove the transaction forward and generated the momentum needed to get it over the line in an efficient manner.”
Richard Newman of Cattaneo added:
“Robinson’s is a fantastic local business and a real example of the quality offered in the region. The team are keen to progress the business, building on the fantastic foundation they have built with Dan. We wish Dave, Clare and their team every success and are excited to see what’s next in store for Robinson’s.”
Parinda Nanayakara, Relationship Manager at HSBC UK, commented:
“HSBC UK is committed to supporting the region’s growing businesses, and we’re pleased to provide Robinson’s with a robust funding package. We look forward to supporting them on their journey.”
