The sale of Dartex Holdings Limited to Trelleborg AB. Dartex designs and manufactures a range of coated fabrics primarily for the healthcare & medical industry and is a world leader in coated fabrics for pressure injury prevention. It also serves customers with high performance outdoor apparel and linings for sewer rehabilitation. Trelleborg, through its business area Trelleborg Coated Systems, is a world leader in engineered polymer solutions that seal, damp and protect critical applications in demanding environments. Its innovative engineered solutions accelerate performance for customers in a sustainable way. The two businesses are highly complimentary with Dartex strengthening Trelleborg’s position in the healthcare and medical industry and offering it greater geographical reach. Dartex has operations in Long Eaton, UK and Rhode Island, US. Trelleborg Coated Systems are headquartered in Milan, Italy.
OUR ROLE:
We were appointed to manage a full sales process. This included identifying the key attributes of the business which would appeal to strategic buyers and presenting these effectively in a high quality information memorandum. We used our considerable experience in identifying and approaching international purchasers to contact those that had the strategic rationale and the financial capacity to make an acquisition of a business with manufacturing operations in both the UK and the US. In order to maximize offers we managed multiple bidders from several overseas jurisdictions, arranged site visits in the UK and US, and then maintained competitive tension while selecting a preferred purchaser, delivering an excellent result for our client.
